The working principle of RTTS packer

RTTS packer is mainly composed of J-shaped groove transposition mechanism, mechanical slips, rubber barrel and hydraulic anchor. When the RTTS packer is lowered into the well, the friction pad is always in close contact with the inner wall of the casing, the lug is at the lower end of the transposition groove, and the rubber barrel is in a free state. When the packer is lowered to the predetermined well depth, first lift the pipe string so that the lug reaches the upper position of the short slot, and while maintaining the torque, lower the pipe string to apply the compression load.

Because the right-hand rotation of the pipe column causes the lug to move from the short groove to the long groove, the lower mandrel moves downward when pressurized, the slip cone moves downward to open the slip, and the edges of the alloy block on the slip are embedded in the casing wall, and then The rubber cartridges expand under pressure until both cartridges are pressed against the casing wall, forming a seal.

When the test negative pressure difference is large and the pressure below the packer rubber barrel is greater than the hydrostatic column pressure above the packer, the lower pressure will be transmitted to the hydraulic anchor through the volume pipe, causing the hydraulic anchor slips to open and the slips to rise. The alloy slips are facing upward, so that the packer can be firmly seated on the inner wall of the casing to prevent the pipe string from moving upward.

If the packer is lifted out, just apply tensile load, open the circulation valve first to balance the upper and lower pressures of the rubber cylinder, the hydraulic anchor slips will automatically retract, and then continue to lift, the rubber cylinder will release the pressure and return to its original freedom. At this time, the lug automatically returns to the short groove from the long groove along the slope, the cone moves upward, and the slips are retracted, and the packer can be lifted out of the wellbore.
