China deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development enter the fast lane

Recently, China first self-operated ultra-deepwater large gas field “Shenhai No. 1″ has been put into operation for the second anniversary, with a cumulative production of more than 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.In the past two years, CNOOC has continued to make efforts in deep waters. At present, it has explored and developed 12 deep sea oil and gas fields. In 2022, the deep sea oil and gas production will exceed 12 million tons of oil equivalent, marking that China deep sea oil and gas exploration and development have entered the fast track and become an important force to ensure national energy security.

The commissioning of the “Shenhai No. 1″ large gas field marks that our country’s offshore oil industry has fully realized the leap from 300-meter deep water to 1,500-meter ultra-deep water. The core equipment of the large gas field, the “Deep Sea No. 1″ energy station is the world’s first 100,000-ton deep-water semi-submersible production and storage platform independently developed and built by our country. In the past two years, the daily production capacity of natural gas has increased from less than 7 million cubic meters at the beginning of production to 10 million cubic meters, becoming the main gas field in South China to ensure energy supply from sea to land.

The cumulative crude oil production of the Liuhua 16-2 oilfield group in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the South our country Sea exceeded 10 million tons. As the oilfield group with the deepest water depth in our country’s offshore development, Liuhua 16-2 oilfield group has an average water depth of 412 meters and has the largest underwater production system of oil and gas fields in Asia.

At present, CNOOC has mastered a series of offshore oil and gas construction equipment centered on large-scale lifting and pipe-laying ships, deep-water robots, and 3,000-meter-class deep-water multi-functional ships, and has formed a complete set of key technical capabilities for offshore engineering represented by deep-water semi-submersible platforms, deep-sea floating wind power, and underwater production systems.

Up to now, Our country has discovered more than 10 large and medium-sized oil and gas fields in relevant deep-water sea areas, laying a solid foundation for increasing reserves and production of deep-sea oil and gas fields.
